Sergei Skobin is a pianist who thrives on the limitless possibilities of sound. Whether performing solo, with orchestras, or as part of an ensemble, he approaches music as a conversation—one where every note carries meaning and every performance tells a new story.
Born in Uzbekistan, Skobin began playing piano at a young age, quickly finding himself drawn not just to the technical challenges of the instrument but to its expressive potential. His early studies at the Uspensky School of Music for Gifted Children laid the foundation for a career that would take him across the world. He later earned degrees from The State Conservatory of Uzbekistan before continuing his education in the United States.
Since making his orchestral debut at 15, Skobin has performed internationally, appearing as a soloist with orchestras and in chamber ensembles. His collaborations have brought him to major concert halls and festivals, where his playing has been noted for its depth, clarity, and sensitivity. Critics have described his performances as both technically refined and emotionally compelling, highlighting his ability to bring fresh perspectives to familiar works.
Beyond traditional concert settings, Skobin has embraced a wide range of musical projects, from contemporary compositions to intimate chamber music performances. As a member of Skobin Duo, he explores the unique artistry of piano duet repertoire alongside his wife, Diana Skobina.
